From Promise to Purpose: Rotaract SRCC Inducts Its Future Torchbearers

Rotaract Induction 2025 at SRCC was completely NOT your traditional formal orientation, it was relaxed, high-energy, really warm and friendly, and seriously, much more fun than anticipated. It was held on October 9th at 1:45 PM, and the atmosphere was already lively due to the president's sensational message the previous day. From the moment we stepped in, it was like we were beginning an adventure rather than sitting through a briefing or intro. And believe me, I'm even not exaggerating here. So, the new Rotaractors were told to sit by their departments, and that little change got everyone chatting and intrigued. Then we did this quick round of self-intros where each Rotaractor told us their name, where they're from, and a fun fact about themselves. It was fast, kind of wild, but totally fun!

And so, the formal segment began with introductions of the cabinet, BUT BUT BUT with a twist. Each senior was introduced with a sassy hashtag that completely suited them. It was literally one of the highlights! Everyone was laughing at the hashtags and strangely helped us remember the seniors rather than zone out like we inevitably do in formal settings. Special shoutout to Rachit Kedia’s moderation that maintained the tempo and kept everyone engaged.

After that was the department unveiling. Not like tedious announcements, this part was like a reality TV moment where individuals cheered, reacted, and changed seats while their real departments were being announced. Transition was smooth, enjoyable, and made everyone part of it.

And the cherry on top? The games! We had this "One Word Wonder" where we built up a story with one-word additions and it ended up being really hilarious. Then we had this inter-departmental "Dares" challengewhere dares were wr that got everyone quite competitive; if you lost, your entire department lost points, so pressure was completely on. That final piece, "Confessions," had everyone in stitches with all the shocks and familiar moments. Honestly, I thought the games were hilarious and a perfect ice-breaker!

What was impressive was that the seniors participated. They weren't remote or too formal, they played, cheered and ensured no one was left behind.President Angel Patel confessed to feeling fearful that all the dares would go awry, yet the juniors rose to the challenge with confidence and in good humour. The event wrapped up with some group pics that totally captured the smiles and kicked off a new chapter.

Over all, the induction mixed professionalism with warmth. It established informal bonds, created enthusiasm, and proved that Rotaract is not only about service and leadership, it's all about bonding, working together, and having fun in the process.

These new members will then get to join several committees and projects, all which aim to create leadership, creativity, and a sense of service AND ONCE AGAIN IT WOULD CREATE A FAMILY AWAY FROM FAMILY. From club activities to community service, it all begins with potential and responsibility. So this started Rotaractors’ journey of becoming a leader.
